Q&A New Dashboard Update

We are excited to announce the rollout of the new Q&A dashboard experience. This new update aims to align the existing Q&A experience found inside reports and merges this into the Q&A for dashboards interface. One of the most notable changes is the inclusion of the suggestions side pane which is available for all users. The suggestions pane will work much like it does inside reports including suggestions defined by the report author. However, Q&A will also auto-generate sample suggestions to help you quickly get started and find insights inside your data.

The new dashboard experience will still allow you to view pinned questions as well as the ability to pin new Q&A visuals directly to a dashboard. There are however a couple of limitations of the new Q&A dashboard experience. These are:

  • Follow up mode is not supported in dashboards. They are only available inside reports
  • Insight based questions are not supported in dashboards. They are available inside reports
  • The filter and visual pane are not currently available in the new dashboard experience.

Over the next couple of weeks, we will continue to make improvements to Q&A. If you have any feedback or would like to get in touch with us please reach out to the team. Stay tuned for more updates
